More about Zazou

A true gentleman for the very youngest riders

Zazou is a very special pony from our own stable, and he continues to amaze us with his wonderful temperament. He is ridden every week by a little girl of just two years old and remains incredibly patient and reliable, even when she is still a little bouncy in the trot. He adapts to his rider and gives children all the time and confidence they need to enjoy riding at their own pace.

These qualities also make him a particularly attractive lease pony. Zazou does not depend on one specific rider and is easy for children of different ages and abilities to ride. He is incredibly forgiving and remains calm and cooperative even when a young rider does not get everything quite right.

Mr. Confident – a hunter who helps his rider!

Zazou also has so much to offer in the show ring. With an eight-year-old girl, he jumps beautiful, relaxed courses, where his natural balance and consistent rhythm immediately stand out. He thinks ahead, naturally finds his distances and effortlessly offers a flying lead change, even with a younger rider. You could almost show him the course plan and let him jump the whole thing himself!

What makes him particularly exciting for the American hunter market is his outstanding attitude towards the jumps. Zazou is completely unfazed by anything. Flowers, decorative gates, greenery or unusual fence fillers: he maintains the same rhythm and jumps everything honestly and confidently. He also shows lovely front-end technique and a stylish way of jumping. A particularly promising future children's hunter!

The same reliable Zazou, wherever he goes

We have taken Zazou to dressage shows, showjumping competitions, schooling courses and cross-country and eventing training. Wherever we went, he behaved beautifully! He has competed in both dressage and showjumping and remains confident and relaxed in unfamiliar surroundings. A pony you can happily take along on any adventure.

And those adventures certainly do not always have to involve competition! In his videos, you can see a two-year-old girl leading him alongside her scooter, playing on a swing with him nearby and bouncing on her ball while holding his lead rope. Zazou was even invited into our bedroom for a fun video shoot, where he patiently allowed himself to be guided around the room as though it were the most normal thing in the world. He is also perfectly happy being ridden bareback.

He is just as wonderful in everyday handling. He is easy to clip, sociable with other ponies in the field and has a wonderfully sensible, laid-back attitude. Exactly the kind of pony children look forward to spending time with every single day.

In short, Zazou is an exceptionally complete children's pony: a heart of gold, fantastic hunter qualities and the confidence to help his rider through every challenge. A dream for young riders, ambitious hunter competitors and their parents alike!
